At Connecting Pieces Autism Center, we believe all children should be equally valued in education. CPAC believes in the idea behind inclusive classrooms for our students. Children with disabilities benefit from learning from other children with diverse talents and temperaments in a regular classroom. Our qualified staff will guide, assist, and work tirelessly to build a foundation of learning strategies to help students succeed socially, physically, and academically. Student enrollment ages range from 18 months to 6 years old.
At CPAC, our focus is our students’ well-being and betterment. The first few years of a child’s life are the most impactful for monitoring developmental milestones. With autism spectrum disorder diagnosed as early as two years, providing treatment at a young age (18 months to 4 years) is beneficial. Roughly 1 in 44 children are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, according to the CDC. Therefore, early intervention will give children the best start possible and the best likelihood of developing to their full potential.
Our skilled staff are here to help focus on building, encouraging, and motivating students to explore and discover new things through play. The tiny tinker thinkers (18 months – 3 years) will learn positive peer interaction techniques such as (sharing, taking turns, parallel play, responding to peers, problem-solving, appropriate play, and more) when they attend the early intervention program. We have a low student-to-teacher ratio, allowing students to receive the toddler-focused attention they need.
Our little explorers (4-6 years old) are shakers and movers at their own pace. We have blended programs that serve typically developing students and exceptional education students. Our teachers focus on building independence, developing social/emotional/communication skills, and engaging in hands-on activities designed for your child to perform at the capacity they can understand alongside their peers. Also, it allows children with exceptionalities to learn in a natural environment that will lead to quicker acquisition of skills.
The ultimate goal of the two programs is to support all students’ growth and development while providing an inclusive environment. Here at CPAC, we ensure that all students become familiar with STEM activities to develop critical thinking skills and become problem solvers, including arts, science, drama, play, math, reading, music, and movement centers. General Education students must be three on or before September 1 of the current school year.
